  • 2 chicken breasts, sliced into thin strips

  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 medium yellow bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 4 large lettuce leaves (such as iceberg or romaine), washed and dried

  • Optional toppings: diced tomatoes, sliced avocado, chopped cilantro


  1. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to make a marinade.

  2. Place the chicken strips in a resealable bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, making sure it is evenly coated. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 15 minutes, or you can refrigerate it for up to 2 hours for more flavor.

  3. Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken strips and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned. Remove the cooked chicken from the pan and set it aside.

  4. In the same pan, add the sliced bell peppers and onion. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp and slightly charred.

  5. Return the cooked chicken to the pan with the peppers and onions. Toss everything together for an additional 1-2 minutes to combine the flavors.

  6. Remove the pan from the heat. Take each lettuce leaf and spoon a portion of the chicken, pepper, and onion mixture onto the center. Add any optional toppings you desire, such as diced tomatoes, sliced avocado, or chopped cilantro.

  7. Roll up the lettuce leaves tightly, like a burrito, enclosing the filling.

  8. Serve the chicken fajitas lettuce wraps immediately and enjoy!
