Ingredients
1 pound ground turkey (preferably lean)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup almond flour
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups marinara sauce (look for one without added sugars)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, grated Parmesan, almond flour, egg, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and roll each portion into a meatball. You should have four meatballs per serving.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the turkey meatballs and sear them for about 2 minutes on each side until they get a nice golden brown color.
Transfer the seared meatballs to an oven-safe baking dish.
Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs, making sure they are evenly coated.
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Remove the meatballs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes.
Serve the Turkey Meatballs in Marinara Sauce with your favorite low-carb side dish like zucchini noodles or cauliflower rice. Garnish with fresh basil leaves for that extra touch of freshness.
