Ingredients

  • 4 ounces (113 grams) ground turkey

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 large lettuce leaf (such as iceberg or romaine)

  • 2 slices of tomato

  • 2 slices of red onion

  • 2 slices of avocado

  • Mustard or sugar-free ketchup (optional)

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the turkey.

  2. Shape the turkey mixture into a patty, approximately the size of your lettuce leaf.

  3. Preheat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook the turkey patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and is cooked through.

  4. While the patty is cooking, prepare your lettuce wrap. Wash and dry the lettuce leaf, then place it on a plate or cutting board.

  5. Once the turkey patty is cooked, place it on the lettuce leaf. Top with tomato slices, red onion slices, and avocado slices.

  6. If desired, add a small amount of mustard or sugar-free ketchup for extra flavor.

  7. Carefully wrap the lettuce leaf around the turkey patty and toppings, securing it with toothpicks if necessary.

  8. Serve the Turkey Burger with lettuce wrap immediately and enjoy!
