Ingredients
For the Ground Beef:
1 lb ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Tacos:
8 large lettuce leaves (romaine or iceberg)
1 tomato, diced
1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Fresh cilantro for garnish
Directions
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking up the beef with a spoon, until no pink remains.
Sprinkle the cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper over the beef. Stir well to combine and cook for another minute.
To assemble the tacos, place a scoop of the cooked ground beef onto each lettuce leaf. Top with diced tomato, a sprinkle of shredded cheese if desired, and a garnish of fresh cilantro.
Fold the lettuce leaves over the filling and serve immediately.
