Ingredients

For the Ground Beef:

1 lb ground beef

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon oregano

Salt and pepper to taste


For the Tacos:

8 large lettuce leaves (romaine or iceberg)

1 tomato, diced

1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Fresh cilantro for garnish

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.

  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking up the beef with a spoon, until no pink remains.

  3. Sprinkle the cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper over the beef. Stir well to combine and cook for another minute.

  4. To assemble the tacos, place a scoop of the cooked ground beef onto each lettuce leaf. Top with diced tomato, a sprinkle of shredded cheese if desired, and a garnish of fresh cilantro.

  5. Fold the lettuce leaves over the filling and serve immediately.
