1/2 pound ground bison

1/4 small onion, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 lettuce leaves (for wrapping the burger)

Optional toppings: sliced tomato, sliced onion, sliced avocado, mustard, sugar-free ketchup


  1. In a bowl, combine the ground bison, chopped onion, minced garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. Shape the mixture into two burger patties.

  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the burger patties and cook until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
